About Me
A quick introduction for you 🙂

Hi! I’m Bridgit, the creator of ParentingHigh5. I’m mom to 5-year-old boy/girl twins, Matix and Elise, and wife to a super-talented tech mastermind, Matt.

I created ParentingHigh5 cards a few years ago as a way to offset the judgement and shaming that I observed in the parenting community —myself included. I wanted a way to remind myself to focus on the positive and for other parents to feel supported and encouraged. The cards are simple reminders that we’re all on the same team.

I started handing them out to friends and family and they’ve somehow spread across the country and, most recently, into the UK! I am both thrilled and humbled by the response they’ve received so far.

In addition to providing support for other parents, my hope is for this effort and website to serve as a resource for Team Parent. I’ve enlisted my mom, Child Development Specialist, Ruthann Horvay to help currate sites, articles, books and DVDs to share with you all. I hope you find them as helpful as I have in my parenting journey.

Parenting is not easy. Matt and I are only 5 years into the adventure and that fact has been more than proven. On the other hand, parenting is amazing. The little victories we enjoy each day feel good. In fact, they feel awesome, and we make it a point to acknowledge those feelings, often with a high five.

There are times we all struggle, of course, but at the end of the day, we are all rocking this parenting thing and we should tell each other so. Take a minute and tell your teammates that they have your support, that we’re in this together.

High five!
